The second film in a trilogy on sound.
"SoundPrint" explores the marks left by sonic frequencies. Imagery from optical soundtracks and micro photography of records play against similar signals received by sand, water, and people. Abandoned Land is an experimental video that documents abandoned places, infrastructure and phenomenon in Finland. The video uses Finland as an allegory to approach recent changes of the European infrastructure and society with visually effective images, prosaic narration and music. Before the depicted environment was abandoned it had grown to meet the demands of its society. Now useless, the video observes and documents the changes in our time from the reconstruction after world war II to present time.

The Museum of Departures
Directed by: Gautam Valluri
Genres: Experimental, Documentary
Country of Origin: United Kingdom
The Gerrard Street Chinatown is perhaps London's greatest museum. Everything is displayed behind glass walls– people, actions, novelties, food items. It's the reconstruction of a culture that belongs to the other side of the world. A culture descended from a people that had departed their homeland. Through the glass's surface reflections, the artist sees reflections of himself and remembers sounds from his recent past and echoes of his own departures.

In the midst of a dance that sounds and a music that moves, the earth trembles between manifestation and concealment, between search and encounter.
