About the directors, Nicolle Reale, Viv Li and Zsófia Paczolay
Viv Li is a Chinese filmmaker born and raised in Beijing. In the past 10 years, she has lived in Manchester, São Paulo, Barranquilla, Mexico City, Manila, Lisbon, Brussels, Budapest and Berlin. She did standup comedy, poetry, fashion, short films, boxing, and some eco-toilet designing. She loves hotpot, tea, tomato curry, peanut butter and okra. Her films have quite long titles such as I Don’t Feel At Home Anywhere Anymore, which received a special mention at IDFA, and She Dyes Her Hair Pink, awarded Best Short Documentary at Porto. Currently, she is working on her first feature debut, The Two Mountains Weighing Down My Chest. Viv is a Berlinale Talent and recipient of Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. She enjoys working between different genres, cultures and uses humour as a tool. She likes to joke, but please take her seriously.
Zsófia Paczolay is mapping the world in the sphere of performing arts, social work and lately documentary filmmaking. However she was trained as an architect, in the last couple of years she is part of an Amsterdam based collective, called MOHA, with whom in the form of performative events she is invading public space, connect to specific communities, aiming to shatter personal bubbles and connecting with the day-to-day realities of people, objects and other creatures.
Nicolle Reale is a Ecuadorian director and writer. She has a clear focus on creative documentary storytelling and docufiction with a particular interest in psychology and human behavior. She has directed 5 short documentaries and in the past year she has been interested in exploring different realities to tell stories by a unique vision using the combination of fiction and documentary, regularly with a poetic touch.
